1. Right now, our weather is in the high 50s and its sunny, fall is actually starting to settle in, but what I'd really like is 75 and sunny, and NO humidity
2. I like to let my hair down and sing silly song to DD and dance around the house to make her smile
3. Mommy Rambles made a post about heroes... my hero is  my husband, because, he walks out that door every day (99% of the time with no complaints) because he love his job, he deploys with little to no whining when the time comes to get on that plane he reminds me he signed up for this job and that he'll be back soon.
4. It's a weird combination, but I swear tortilla chips and ketchup are a perfect pair! (and man do I crave it lately!)
5. Some may see the glass half empty and others may see it half full, but I  never look at it that way really, I am the what if queen so some may say I'm a glass 1/2 empty person but I just like trying to see all the possibility.

Deployment Playlist

These are all the songs that I have on my iTunes that help me with deployment, some are about distance, others are about love and some have nothing today with love or distance they just put a smile on my face when I really need it. I'm not scared to admit that I have these songs on my iTunes. I'm not ashamed to admit that I listen to them, give them a chance before you judge who the artist is. I listen to a lot of Country and I'm sure you'll pick up on that but I listen to a little of everything, so don't be shocked by this list. Some songs will be well know and others may be new to you, but I ask you to be open minded when it comes to these songs, you never know what might strike a cord with you or even bring tears to your eyes.

Good Morning Deployment

Well it's morning 1 without hubby, I didn't sleep well last night. I was too worried about how his flight was, if he got there, if he was still flying, part of me was hoping that he'd call. I know its weird to hope he'd call the first night, but I miss him so much. Well this morning I was woken up by a phone call, it was him!! He called me from over there to tell me he made it safely. It was a great surprise :) He told me the internet over there was working and that he'd get on when he could since he had a briefing in a few hours and had time to kill. So he got on skype (just typing no video or voice) well because I didn't sleep well I fell asleep on him :( I feel really bad but at least I know he made it over there. He told me what shift he's working and its the shift I wanted him on (YAY!!!) I'm really thankful that DD is a good sleeper!! Well I'm going to try and get some stuff accomplished today, so I guess I better get off the couch.

Deployment 2011 Part 2

Well folks he left. Stupid, stinking, high deployment rate. Our base has a really high deployment rate, as in it's really rare for people to be home more then 8 months, for people to stay home longer then that means there is normally something big going on in their lives. DH got home in June and is already gone, he was pretty much home long enough to get me pregnant (at least that how it feels). I have to say that this morning I was not expecting all the helpful offers I received when I took DH into work to catch the bus. More high ups then I can count said "If you need anything don't hesitate to call, actually if you don't call you'll be in trouble". Another said "If something goes wrong with your pregnancy we'll get him home, you have my word", I was floored! Really an offer to get him home if I truly need him? I mean this is his 4th deployment since we got married and his 5th over all, so I'm pretty use to dealing with the ins and outs of life without him (sucks but true). For them to tell me that made me feel even better about him leaving. I was borderline pre-eclampsia with DD and once you have had pre-e you are more likely to get it again, now I was 37 weeks with DD when they said I became borderline pre-e so in my mind that's pretty good. DH made it home in time for DD (only by 48 hours but home is home right?). I plan on talking to my doctor next week about my chances with pre-e and how worried about it I should be about it happening during this pregnancy. I plan on keep DH's shop as informed as I feel they need to be but knowing that if pre-e pops up again and it's REALLY bad or if there is some other emergency, I could have DH home with in a week (maybe less!). On a day that could have been totally awful, DH's higher ups really made me feel better. I was able to hang out with DH for 2 1/2 hours before he left, I took him to work. He said I could hang out in the "waiting room" until the bus showed up. When the bus got there I got all teary eyed thinking it would be the last time I got to see him in the flesh, smell his deodorant (when I'm not using it haha), touch him, feel him. Well then someone said "oh you can come to 2090" woo!  more hubby time! So I put DD in the jeep and drove down the street to the other building, there DH was given all his paperwork but we got more time and that's what really matters. One last kiss, one last hug, one last family moment until the new year.

I'm back, Round 2

Well DH came home in June and I got really bad about using my blog.

So lets update:

DH is deploying AGAIN, yes AGAIN this year

DD is a little energy ball, she never stops moving! Thank God for naps because mommy need down time too!

I'm pregnant with #2! We are really excited, that is why DH deployed again, we wanted him home in plenty of time for baby #2.

I think that's all the big stuff that's happened so far, we are moving to a bigger house sometime when DH gets home from deployment and before the baby is born but the timeline for that is still fuzzy because we aren't sure of a come home date

I'll post again late tonight but DD is getting cranky, I think it's nap time, which means relaxing time for mommy!

DH joined the Air Force at 10am on July 19th, 2006....we met at 8pm July 19, 2006....I knew what I was getting into! I wouldn't change the way it happened for anything!

Aladdin! I love the setting and she has a TIGER!  I mean how freaking COOL are tigers! I love the Moroccan look and feel of the movie too! I know that movie forwards, backwards and sideways!! I'm such a Disney goober :)

Where do you secretly wish you could be stationed with you/your SO's line of work (realistically speaking, not everyone can be stationed on NAS Fiji)? submitted by Wookie & Co.
Any where on the east coast, we are in Washington (state) and it is really far from our families, since we have started a family it would be nice to be able to see family easier and more often we are looking to go home this fall and it is going to cost $900 for 2 tickets! :-0 I'd love to go to North Carolina. There are only 5 bases that DH can be at.

Update on life

DD turned 1!! I can't believe that she is 1!

I didn't spend the whole day crying (yes).

DH called while the whole family was together

(my parents, his parents and siblings) so we put DH on speaker and sang Happy Birthday to DD.

I am so glad he was able to call, I was worried that DD wouldn't get to hear DH's voice on her birthday. I know you cant control deployments and phone calls but I'm so glad he at least got to be on the phone while we sang to DD for the very 1st time!

1) Have you and your spouse agreed to live in separate locations (a geographical bachelor tour) knowing that the short-term inconvenience would have long-term benefits for your family? How did it work for you? submitted by When Good People Get Together
DH has only had 1 duty station and we are still at it. We didn't get married until 2008 and he was stationed there in 2007. So we spent a year apart, it was hard but made us stronger together. We've talked about him possibly doing a solo tour but I don't think I would handle that well, but if the military sends him we'll deal with what comes our way.

2) What is your favorite thing about being a MilSpouse? submitted by Sarah Ruth Today
The sisterhood that comes with being a MilSpouse. Other MilSpouses just get it! They get the frustrations and when I whine a little they tend to be way more understanding because they have more then likely been in the same situation.

3) If you could still have your spouse/significant other and your family, but take the military life out of it...would you?  submitted by Trust. Love. Believe. Bake.
On a bad day I would tell you I'd leave the military life style if my husband wanted to. DH loves his job and wants to be a lifer and I'm ok with that. We are blessed, we have good medical coverage, we have a roof over our heads and we have a steady income. The military life style is our life and I wouldn't trade it.

4) What have your homecoming experiences been like after a year long tour of separation? submitted by Army Soldier, Army Wife
My DH doesn't do year long tours but I will share my experiences anyways. Sitting and waiting for the plane to land is the worst! A watched egg never hatches kinda thing. The second I see DH (going cheesy movie on ya know) my heart hits the floor and I feel like a love sick puppy all over again. I hug him and never want to let go, we hold hands back in to the building until he has to in process, then we go home where we....well you guys don't need to know about what happens behind closed doors

5) If you have a child(ren) why you chose their name(s)? If not, why you would name your child something?  submitted by Tiara's & ACU's
I won't put DD's name on here but I will tell you how she got her name. Every name I liked DH said no to, but he couldn't come up with anything he liked. The only thing he could tell me is he wanted our child to have a name that was easily shortened, such as Katherine to Katie (me!). We ended up getting the 100,001 baby name book. We picks both a boy name and a girl name before we found out it was a girl. As for DD's middle  name I didn't give DH a choice, SIL and I have the same middle name so it was the clear choice. I have my list of dream names but I don't know that I'll ever get to name my children them since DH doesn't like them, we'll see.

Case of the Mondays

Poor customer service

So I have the iPhone 4 (love it)

DD killed my phone case, she thought she'd be cute and chuck it at a wall...I didn't think it was cute. So I called my mom and asked if the Easter Bunny would put a new phone case in my Easter basket (yea I'm 23 and still get Easter baskets, be jealous). She told me that the Easter Bunny would just take me to the mall and pay for the one I want (sweet). So today my dad, DD and I went to the mall for a few reasons, 1 DH and I want to get our own phone plan (we are currently on my dad's) 2 to get a gift card for my brother and 3 to get me a phone case. So we went to AT&T to talk to them about getting our own plan (doable but my dad has to pay his part of the bill first) and I looked at cases, nothing jumped out at me. We left the AT&T store and about 1/2 way down the mall I realized I needed to get screen protectors (again DD killed the one on my phone). So we at that point we were closer to Verizon, now they have the iPhone 4 so I didn't think they would care (business is business right?) Well I walked in and they said they had them, while checking out the guy asked if i had my phone on me and I said it was in DD's stroller (which was with my dad at the front). He then asked for my phone number and I said oh I'm an AT&T customer, he said "well why should I sell you my product" REALLY?! RUDE!! How do you know I don't want to switch companies? Verizon  lost a lot of people because of the iPhone and are now getting people back, but really I'm giving you my money, and the screen protectors are cheaper at AT&T anyways!! So really go a head and be rude you never know when someone is going to change phone companies. I mean really the only reason DH and I have AT&T is because we are on my dad's plan, what if DH got home from deployment and said hey lets go get Verizon. Really it was just scream protectors

Date Night with BFF

Ok I have had the same BFF since I was 3!! I'm 23

She is busy with school and I'm busy living on the other side of the country and playing mommy

anyhoo

last night we went out to dinner and at dinner she mention that she wanted to see African Cats

I was excited! Not gonna lie, I'm not a documentary person, I don't like history, I don't like science (ok well I like Physic but thats basically math) but I REALLY liked African Cats

The lion mommies and the cheetah mom ahhh it was great!

There were sad parts and parts that mad me want to cry, but there were also cute parts!

DD was a little bit of a brat, she kinda embarrassed BFF a little bit, but hey she's almost 1 (ahh!) what else would you expect from her during a movie?

Ok so I'm visiting family in PITTSBURGH

We had problems getting her a pass so she could come and go freely, well apparently getting a month long pass is a huge deal, they did a background check (which she passed) and they said everything was good they just had to call their boss to clear it. The boss said we had to talk to housing and it would take more then a week to get her a pass! How on earth does it take that long to print a freaking piece of paper?! She passed her background check and has gotten day passes several times. Anyways!

I got her a week pass and then my friend and neighbor were going to go back and get passes, great right? well my friend and her husband went to Texas for Easter so it was up to my neighbor for a while. Well my poor friend J has had a rough 2 weeks. Personal problems and car problems. I told her to use my Jeep to get home for Easter (she lives 2 hours away normally but lives with her grandparents most of the year), well she called me and was like 'umm your Jeep is dead' WHAT?! I feel awful because she is watching my dogs and stuck on base, my neighbor was sleeping so she didnt answer the door, and everyone else she knows on base is either at work, out of town or can't get to her. We texted and called everything we could think of. I feel like its my fault, she keeps apologizing to me and it's so not her fault. I just feel like I'm being a bad friend because I dumped my dogs on her (I mean she offered and I'm paying her but still). I feel like my Washington life is falling apart. DH keeps getting extended on top of it, I just want life to be easy, can I go back to kindergarten?

I have 2 dogs, Heinz and Nebby

Heinz (the black dog) will be 3 on May 9th. He is a pure bred mutt, DH got him from the shelter for me as my wedding present, we are told he's part lab...we dont think there is any lab in him.

Nebby (the blonde dog) will be 2 on August 1st. She is a designer mutt. I bought her on my birthday for DH...I got tricked into getting her (oops). We got her from a breeder, she is 1/2 Lab 1/2 Brittany Spaniel

love! I try and put in magazines, candy, pictures. I always ask him if there is anything special he wants. It's different every time.

NCIS! I'm ADDICTED!! I've seen every episode like 15 times! It's my show, I DVR it and it blows up our DVR, especially when USA network has marathons.

What was the biggest hurdle that you faced during your/your significant other's first deployment? submitted by The Pavlik Perspective

Not talking everyday, we went from talking EVERY DAY to talking only when he was able to get to a phone. We were dating during his first deployment so he split his calls between me and his parents. I would email him but it wasn't the same. He's my person and I had to learn to deal with not being able to vent to him when ever I wanted to. Since we got married he calls mostly me and then I call them. They also didn't have internet in the dorms until his third deployment so I didnt even have the chance to talk to him on his off time.
